Let’s commence with verse.

To bring in the battle, I think it’s appropriate to post these few verses of Oliver St. John Gogarty, to show what kind of values this blog endorses, and under what sort of flag it enters the field of battle.

“We are, as our fathers were,

Lovers of the swift and strong,

Lovers of the open air,

Lovers of the horse and song

And the glories of the voice

In the deeds to be retold.

Therefore let us now rejoice

As the kings rejoiced of old.”

The argument.

This blog, since it is my first blog and I must have a reason for having it, will justify itself by starting a conflict. It’s task is to prove its superiority to another blog, the blog of Hunter Motto–and by implication, prove that of its progenitor over that of its competitor. Readers of this blog are encouraged to visit Hunter Motto’s blog and comment on who has the upper hand at any given time, or at the conclusion of any particular conflict. They are even encouraged to take sides and commit themselves to the imrovement and greater glory of the respective blogs by supplementing the posturing of the respective authors with their own deeds of warlike bloggery.
